Four Crushed To Death In Ilorin As Building Belonging To Saraki’s Aide Collapses

At least four persons were crushed to death on Friday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital when a building belonging to Moshood Mustapha, the Special Adviser on Intra-Parliamentary Affairs to the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, collapsed.
The said building(picture), which was under construction is located at Sulu-Gambari, close to Ilorin office of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
It gave way early Friday allegedly killing at least four workers on site.
The deceased whose identities were not known as at the time of filing this report were crushed by collapsed beams of the structure.
They were said to have been trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed building and were only extricated when rescue workers arrived the scene.
Sources said the collapse might have been caused by weak structure.
It was gathered that the Kwara State Town planning Authority prior to this incident sealed off the building on two occasions stopping construction that was ongoing.
But on both occasions, works resumed in no time. apparently because the owner wielded lot of influence. Apart from being the Senate President’s aide he was a member of the House of Representatives in the 7th Assembly.
