JCI Nigeria Announces Young Entrepreneur Awards, Calls For Entries


In a bid to improve and position Nigeria’s young entrepreneurs among the world’s best young and innovative entrepreneurs, Junior Chambers International, Nigeria has announced the Creative Young Entrepreneur Award to young entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

JCI Nigeria is a part of Junior Chamber International, a worldwide community of young enterprising leaders between the ages of 18-40 and positioned to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

The Creative Young Entrepreneur Award was launched in 2021 to challenge young entrepreneurs to critically and creatively provide in-depth business models, marketing positions, and strategic goals on how their ventures should earn profit and become sustainable. 

Speaking on the initiative, Creative Young Entrepreneur Chair (CYE), Idara Michael explained that the initiative is open to all residents of Nigeria between the ages of 18 and 40 and anyone can nominate an entrepreneur as young entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply themselves.”

According to Idara, CYE is the first step to becoming the 2022 World Creative Young Entrepreneur Award winner, and believes there are outstanding candidates for the award in the country

 “We hope that these creative and talented young business owners and entrepreneurs come forward to be recognized through the competition, with the potential of moving on to the global stage to be honoured”, she said.

In his remark, JCI National President, Wale Bakare noted that the award is geared towards business people who use imagination and creativity in their business enterprise.

“It could be any number of things, including using creativity in product development, service development, or even in the way they approach the market. The key is how they have tackled something in a fresh way, using their talents, imagination and ingenuity to drive their business”, he added.

Also giving additional details about the entry process, the Immediate National President, Abiola Olorunnishola further explained that the entry process involves the simple completion of an online application form and from those entries a panel of experts drawn from within the local economic and entrepreneurial community and select 10 finalists to move onward to the International Competition representing Nigeria.
