Total Blackout In Ibadan As The Battle Between Oyo Govt And IBEDC Persists

Ibadan and its environs have been in darkness since yesterday.

Residents have been crying out on social media lamenting why almost the whole state is in darkness over what they term to be a fight between the power supply company and the state government.

Recall IBEDC earlier this week disconnected the State’s secretariat light, the same light which powers the Governor’s office and in return, the Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue also went ahead to seal IBEDC’s offices across the state.

Just like they laid claims to N450m debt by the Oyo State Government, the Board of Internal Revenue are also claiming the Electricity Distribution Company has a tax default in excess of N400 million.

Bottom line is that Ibadan is in what can be called total darkness.
