Visa-Free Access Through Romania, Hungary Borders Guaranteed – FG Assures Stranded Nigerians


Federal Government has advised Nigerians stranded at the Ukraine-Poland border to consider Romanian or Hungary border.

The ministry of foreign affairs, in a statement signed by its Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Gabriel Aduda said it’s aware of the challenges faced by Nigerians at Polish border and is addressing it.

Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of foreign affairs said he has spoken with his counterpart in Ukraine on these unsavory developments and they are working on alleviating the suffering of Nigerians, but advised Nigerians to use Romanian, Hungary borders for movement at the moment.

Part of the statement read: “For now, movement to the Hungarian Zahony border and Romania Suceava, Tulcea, Satu Mare County, and Maramures is advised as they have approved Visa free access to all Nigerians coming from Ukraine and arrangement for feeding and accommodation before evacuation is arranged.”

The minister appealed to parents of Nigerian students to remain calm, adding that the Federal Government was working very hard to secure the safety of their wards back home.
